PMOPG portal
- Replies to RTI queries by Complainant on his complaints with PMOPG portal are reproduced under [Evidence document page 513-514].
- The replies show that my PMOPG complaints have been forwarded to various authorities but there has been no action by the concerned authorities since four years on any of my complaints. Pathetic state of affairs in Administration. The Hon’ble Prime Minister needs to be informed that even grievances addressed to his office are ignored. Corrective actions by stringent punishment is needed.
- Prime Minister on New Rules for doctors and Pharma companies – media report [Evidence document page 515]. The Prime Minister is aware of the malpractices in pharma-doctor nexus and has repeatedly warned as late as early 2020 that he will be forced to bring a strict law.
- This one episode caught red-handed will definitely be considered seriously to bring in a stringent Pharma Policy based on recommendations by the Department of Pharmaceuticals in 2016.
- They had proposed a marketing ban of one year on the drug company and confiscation of the fastest selling brands of the drugs.
- If they had proposed this punishment for unethical selling practices, what should be the penalty and punishment for playing with lives in nexus with unethical doctors and hospitals?
- Prime Minister on Consumer Protection – media report [Evidence document page 516]. It is the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modiji that “Consumer Protection is a must for creation of New India” and that “Nexus between Pharma companies and doctors be broken”.
- CDSCO had proposed amendments to Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 as per media report [Evidence document page 517]. The proposal contemplated penalty for faulty products due to pharma companies compromising on quality. That pharma companies should be made liable for compensation for injuries and damage caused to consumers by their products including drugs and medical devices.
- The proposals if implemented will prevent pharma companies in indulging in malpractices.
- It will prevent doctors prescribing unnecessary drugs for unethical profits.
